I've seen a lot of people begging for links on here, or asking where to find music. I've also seen a lot of people recommend a lot of.ty ways to acquire music. I'm sure this thread may have been done before, but it never hurts to give a refresher.
If you're using a filesharing program like Limewire or any other garbage, you're doing it wrong. Step 1: Acquire uTorrent Download and install uTorrent.
If you have any firewalls preventing this program from operating, please adjust said firewalls to allow uTorrent. Step 2: Acquire Music There are several private torrent sites that only allow users to join if they've recieved an invitation from an existing user. These are the cream of the crop.
You get access to huge databases of high quality torrents, no viruses, no corrupted downloads, and the mp3's are all high quality (FLAC is available at these sites as well). The catch is that you've got to maintain a respectable upload:download ratio if you want to remain part of this awesome community. It's not difficult.
If you can get invited to one of these sites, definitely do it. If not, you're going to want to use public sites like or if you're like me (when I can't find what I'm looking for on the private site I use), just use Google. Example: You're looking for Nas - Illmatic. Type in 'Nas - Illmatic torrent' into Google. (No need for the quotations) You will have a lot of results. Use your intuition and common sense to try and find a link that looks legit.
Download the torrent file. It will be small, just a couple of kb's. Once downloaded, double click the torrent file. It will open in uTorrent. UTorrent will ask you where you'd like to download the music to. Select your music folder, organize it however you want, and click download. In a few minutes you will have your album.

What all these people using google and piratebay and fileshare sites don't realize is the amazing level of quality control there is on private sites. You might search for the same album on Waffles and Google. You will probably have 4 times the results on Google, but half the links don't work, some have been taken down, and others are corrupted or a shiit bitrate. On a private site all the links will be up, all will be high cd quality bitrate or better, no corrupted files, no links taken down for copyright infringement, special editions with bonus tracks, remasters, etc.
